David Button
Managing Director
4edge
David is the Managing Director of 4edge Limited which are specialist in quality short run book production.
Following a five year apprenticeship, he moved into digital production in the mid 1990’s. In 2003, he founded 4edge Limited with the sole aim to produce quality short run books and journals digitally. In addition to 4edge, he consults for various organizations (most recently the Qatar Foundation in the Middle East) on best practices and equipment for book production.

Phil Phillips
Director of Retail Communications
Screaming Colour Ltd
Phil has spent the last 20 years in various aspects of the print industry. The last 15 have been with an emphasis on the retail market place. Producing a huge range of printed material designed to attract consumers and create brand loyalty. Ranging from POS through to books and other marketing collateral. His most recent involvements have been in relation to luxury goods and services using various digital print media to create innovation and flexibility. Based in London, Phil heads up the retail communications division at Screaming Colour Ltd, in the world epicentre of brand development and high end retail clients.
Jonathan Ruppin
Web Editor
Foyles
Jonathan Ruppin is the Web Editor for Foyles bookshops and has thirteen years' experience in book retailing, including nine on the shopfloor. He has run a variety of departments, for both Foyles and previously Dillons, but specialises in fiction. He has also worked for two literary agents and one publisher. In 2010, he was a judge for the Costa Novel Award. He is also a member of the Editorial Committee of the journal, New Books in German, and a member of the Advisory Board of the new publisher, And Other Stories. Until 2010, he wrote The Bookseller's annual Paperback Preview, selecting the paperback titles most likely to be of interest to booksellers across the market for the forthcoming year. He blogs and reviews regularly for a number of print and online publications.
Nathan Taverner
Senior Designer
The Page Design Consultancy Ltd
Nathan Taverner is a Senior Designer at The Page Design Consultancy, a small award winning design agency. Nathan graduated from the Lincoln School of Art & Design and is a previous winner of the Student category. Since joining The Page, he has gone from strength to strength and produced last year's outstanding ‘Book of the Night' for the 2009 awards. Nathan has a love for good book design and a particular eye for typographic detail.
Andy Vosper
Commercial Director
TJ International
After A levels Andy joined Padstow based book printer TJ Press as a press assistant, he progressed within the company to Production Director, Works Director and since 1997 Commercial Director. In 2005 with Chief Executive Angus Clark the pair acquired the by now well known award winning book manufacturer TJ International. Andy, Angus and TJI have been associated with the BPIF and The British Book Design and Production Awards in particular over a number of years and Andy is delighted to be involved as a judge this year.
