The BPIF are pleased to announce our host for the Awards this year is Anita Mangan!
Anita Mangan is a much sought after and celebrated graphic designer and illustrator. She has designed or illustrated nearly 100 books including two of her own: Bingo, An Illustrated Guide to Bingo Lingo and The Chinese Zodiac, A Seriously Silly Guide.
Along with her brother, Stephen Mangan, she has created 5 best-selling children’s books, published by Scholastic, with 2 more releasing this year, including one for World Book Day, entitled The Fart That Broke World Book Day. In 2023 she appeared on Sky Arts’ Celebrity Portrait Artist of the Year and has become a regular on the sofa with Stephen on Celebrity Gogglebox.
She can mostly be found in her studio at the bottom of the garden surrounded by thousands of tiny colourful objects and with her dog, Dusty, under her desk.
The 2024 British Book Design and Production Awards entry deadline is now CLOSED!
The Awards, brought to you by BPIF, Oxford Brookes University and BookMachine are the premier recognition event for British book design and production.
As one of the most prestigious and popular literary events of the year, the awards showcase the superb quality of the British book design and production industry – and can work wonders for your company’s reputation!
There is also a category for aspiring students to enter their books, with the chance to win a cheque for £500 as well as a short internship with a leading designer, publisher or printer.
All books published between 1 July 2023 and 1 August 2024 are eligible for entry in this year’s Awards. The closing deadline for entries has been extended to 13 September 2024.
Industry experts from the areas of design, publishing, production and retail will judge the entries and honour the book that outshines the rest with the title of 'Book of the Year.'
The winners will be revealed at the award ceremony on Wednesday 29 January 2025 at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
